Feeder Sequences: August 31, 2008

I finally sat down in the yard and learned how to use our new digital SLR camera. Adjusting the shutter speed and ISO value, I was able to capture these two sequences of hummingbirds visiting one of the feeders. The first is the female Western Emerald, which is sexually dimorphic, and the second is the Sparkling Violetear, which isn't. Strangely, these are still the only two hummingbird species I've seen in the neighborhood; I was hoping to see eventually the Black-Tailed Trainbearer, among others.
